2008 Annual Meeting Sessions
Do you have an idea for a session topic for the annual meeting? Excellent. Submit your topic idea to jlsmith@bridgewater.edu. Please include the name of the session and the presenter.
The Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is dedicated to the promotion of the professional preparation, effectiveness, and association of registrars, admission officers, and records administrators in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education.
Qualified applicants are invited to review our membership categories and join VACRAO. For additional information, please e-mail Darren Troxler, Vice President for Membership.
VACRAO has immediate openings for the following positions:
The Editor works with the Executive Board to plan and mail three membership newsletters over the course of the year. The majority of articles are submitted by the membership. A Ph.D. in Creative Writing is not required!
The Web Coordinator maintains the Association’s website and list serve. This position works closely with the Executive Board to insure timely information is provided to the membership.
This position serves as the liaison to and recruiter of organizations and businesses that typically offer services to VACRAO member institutions. The Coordinator is the single point of contact for all vendor registrations and assists vendors at the annual conference.
Each of these important positions does not require a significant amount of your personal time but do make an immense contribution to the quality of our organization. If you’re interested in learning more about any of these or other VACRAO leadership positions, please contact Darren Troxler, Vice-President for Membership & Communication.

The 2008 VACRAO New Counselor Workshop Committee is busy planning this year’s workshop. The workshop will be held July 20-22, at James Madison University. Registration forms are now available. To secure your attendance please return the registration form by July 7, 2008.
The 2008 Domicile Workshop Committee is beginning to plan for this year’s workshop. There are two different dates and locations for the Domicile Workshop. This allows for people from all over the region an opportunity to attend one of these sessions at different locations around Virginia.

A collection of presentation information from the 2007 Annual Meeting sessions is now available. All sessions are listed and pdf files are available from presenters who have submitted their electronic presentation documents. If you presented and have not yet submitted a file from your session you may do so by sending an email attachment to info@vacrao.org – files may be received in either Powerpoint or pdf format.
The sweltering heat reminds us that we’re still in Summer mode, but we all know that Fall is just around the corner. We hope you have had a good year, that you have enjoyed a great summer, and that you are ready for the excitement of VACRAO’s Fall Virginia Tour. Take a look at the general outline for the Fall 2008 tour. Exact times and contact information will be finalized soon.
The Single Invitation was mailed in early June, and RSVP registrations are due to Connie Cook by July 18, 2008. Please note that Connie’s telephone number listed on the first page of the invitation is incorrect. Her number on the actual registration form is correct.
